A top performer on the 2017 GAIN Sports Bus Tour and later with #TEAMGAIN7v7 at the NFA7v7 Southeast Regional at IMG Academy in March 2018; Max Janes joined the 2017 bus tour without a scholarship offer. Max was viewed as an undersized tight end and what we found on the tour was the versatility of his skill set to which led to Max showcasing his abilities as a fullback and h-back on the tour. His performances on the tour earned preferred walk-on opportunities from Kentucky and Tulane and elevating his performance through his senior season led to scholarship offers from Air Force, Wyoming, South Dakota State, Tennessee Tech, among others. Max set his sights on preferred walk-on opportunities with (3) Big Ten schools – Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin before choosing the in-state Gophers in the end. Max played in his first game as a true freshman and we expect a scholarship to come his way sooner than later!
